Howard Treadwell is a New York native hailing from Mastic and Buffalo, New York. He is a dynamic young artist that pushes himself and his audience to their limits with a calm intensity. His writing can be described as emotionally raw yet refined. He believes in the beauty of razorblades and roses. Howard first began writing because it was needed as a release from his abusive childhood and it soon became necessary for him to purge himself of the demons he faced in his life. A coping Manic-Depressant and survivor of multiple suicide attempts, he finds his reasons for living within the first breath of morning. Howard earned a spot on the Buffalo national slam team for two consecutive years (2006 & 2007), and became the city's Grand Slam Champion in 2006. He also coached the 2008 team.

Howard believes that poetry should be an experience that envelops every sense, and by performing it allows him to share his experiences with his audience. If he can connect with one person, then he is satisfied. He has participated in various slams and readings, touching and blazing stages from Toronto to Baltimore. Treadwell has been honing his craft, as well as participating and hosting 3 of the annual Brothers Perspective showcases in Buffalo, NY. Howard has performed at venues such as the famed Nuyorican Poets Café , The Bowery Poetry Club, Soundbites Poetry Festival, Nuves Tapas Lounge, Ego’s Bar in Austin Texas, SUNY Buffalo State College, The University of Buffalo, as well as a number of others.

Howard is AMP|Indelible's Co-Editor-in-Chief, and its resident performance coach. He was recently a member of the Spoken Word/Hip-hop group 21poetz. Current literary projects include his first book of poetry, Dreams of Loisaida, and a poetic/prose autobiography entitled Native Blood, Barrio Soul.
